Terms & Conditions
These terms govern every order placed on BurikaShop. Please read them before you buy β placing an order means you accept them.
1. Who we are
BurikaShop is an online IT store operated by Burika Datacentre Solutions (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa and a registered VAT vendor (VAT 4240215840). Our full details appear at the foot of this page, as required by section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
2. How we sell β please read this one
We hold no stock of our own. We are a zero-stock retailer: we buy each item from a South African distributor once you order it, and it ships from their warehouse. This is how we keep prices close to trade.
Two practical consequences:
- Stock figures come from our distributors and can change between the moment you see them and the moment we place your order. If an item sells out before your order is placed with the distributor, we will tell you and refund you in full β we will never quietly substitute a different product.
- Prices come from live distributor feeds and can change without notice. The price that applies is the price shown when you place your order and receive your order confirmation.
3. Prices, VAT and what is included
- All prices are shown in South African Rand and include VAT at 15%.
- Every order confirmation and invoice shows the amount excluding VAT, the VAT amount and the total, so business customers can claim input VAT.
- Delivery cost is shown before you confirm and pay. Nothing is added after checkout.
- We do not advertise "was" prices unless the distributor has genuinely flagged the line as discounted.
Obvious errors (for example a laptop priced at R10 because of a feed fault) are not binding. If we spot one after you order, we will contact you and refund you in full rather than dispatch.
4. Placing an order
- You add items to your basket and check out.
- We email you an order confirmation with a reference number. This confirms we received the order β it is not yet acceptance.
- Your order is accepted when we confirm your payment and place the matching purchase order with our distributor.
- Because an order can contain items from more than one distributor, parts of it may arrive separately, at no extra cost to you.
5. Payment
We currently accept EFT / bank transfer. Our banking details and your order reference appear on your order confirmation. Please use the order reference so we can match your payment.
Goods are dispatched once payment reflects in our account. Card payment is being added and will appear at checkout when live β until then, any card logos you may see elsewhere do not apply.
6. Delivery
See our Delivery & Lead Times page for current timeframes and costs. In summary: we dispatch from the distributor once payment clears, typical delivery is 2β5 working days to major centres, and we will tell you if an item is on backorder before you pay.
7. Your right to cancel β 7-day cooling off
Under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you may cancel this transaction without giving a reason and without penalty within 7 days after receiving the goods.
- Return the goods to us in the condition you received them.
- We refund you within 30 days of the cancellation.
- You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods.
Full details, and your separate rights over defective goods under the Consumer Protection Act, are on our Returns, Refunds & Warranty page.
8. Warranty
All products carry the manufacturer's South African warranty, which we pass through to you in full. Warranty periods differ by product and are shown on the product page where the distributor supplies them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
9. Business accounts
Business customers can register for a business account for quotes, bulk pricing and account terms. Approval is at our discretion and account terms are agreed in writing before they apply.
10. Limits on our liability
We take care to describe products accurately using information supplied by manufacturers and distributors, but we do not warrant that every specification is free of error. Where a description is materially wrong, your remedy is to return the item under the cooling-off or returns provisions above.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or data. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
11. Complaints and disputes
Please contact us first at shop@burikashop.co.za or 015 297 0033 β most problems are solved in a phone call. If we cannot resolve it, you may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here on the date you place your order. We keep your order confirmation email as the record of your transaction; please retain it.
