Seagate 8TB 3.5" SATA Surveillance HDD

The Seagate SkyHawk 8TB is a high‑capacity surveillance‑optimized 3.5″ SATA hard drive engineered for continuous video recording in security systems such as NVRs (Network Video Recorders) and DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) . With a generous 8 TB storage capacity and a 64 MB onboard cache , this drive provides abundant space and smooth performance for storing weeks (or months) of high‑resolution camera footage while efficiently handling the heavy write loads generated by multiple concurrent video streams. Designed specifically for 24/7 surveillance workloads , SkyHawk drives have firmware tuned to minimise dropped frames and support sustained high‑write performance. They’re also built to withstand demanding operating conditions, with support for elevated temperatures up to 70 °C , enhanced vibration tolerance for multi‑drive environments, and reliability features that help extend drive lifespan in always‑on security systems. The standard SATA interface ensures compatibility with most 3.5″ surveillance recorders. Whether you’re deploying a large‑scale multi‑camera installation or upgrading storage for increased retention, the Seagate SkyHawk 8TB delivers the capacity, endurance, and specialised performance that video surveillance applications demand.
